"An Empty Goblet of Wine"
DP Reflection:
What I did for my Passion Project was create a movie. I did this because I know that I have a huge passion for using my creative control to make something that people will view and enjoy. I made a movie that doesn’t have clear, evident answers in your face. This was created for the viewer to comprehend in their own way. I am a very big fan of any type of abstract art and I enjoyed being able to create my own. I decided to do something film oriented because I know that I want to do something film oriented when I leave Durango after graduation.
I’m lucky that I have found the love and passion for filmmaking. I do believe that this could be the type of career that I would enjoy pursuing. This project has induced more excitement, curiosity and interest within me to create motion pictures. After high school, I’m not going to college. I’m going to try very very hard to achieve my wildest dreams while I’m still super young. I’m going to try to take my internal skills and apply them in Hollywood because that’s where I belong. I want to learn and gain knowledge in order to have an impressive amount of work out there. Through this, I would also like to obtain a hilariously hefty bank account.
With this film, I made it a point to take a bit more of an unorthodox route when in the writing as well as filming process. There is not a definite storyline, moral, or beginning, middle or end for that matter. I basically tried to display the ideas within my brain that I felt needed an image and a voice. In the simplest way of putting it, I continued to exercise my ability to create abstract expressionism. Through this project, I somewhat focused on answering the question, “Take a look into your mind, what do you see?” I did my best at answering this question. I then took the answer that I came up with and gave it life. I think that what this reveals about me as a learner is that I do better when I’m working individually on something that I love and I’m in charge of my own progress and success.
